Beloved Actor The actor Pat Finn, Famed For Parts in Seinfeld and The Middle, Passes Away at Age 60.
American entertainer Pat Finn, who featured in popular television series like "Friends", Seinfeld and The Middle, has succumbed aged 60.
The skilled improv artist died at home in Los Angeles, California on Monday after undergoing treatment for cancer beginning in 2022, according to news outlets.
"Pat never met a stranger - solely future friends he didn't know yet," his relatives said in a statement.
They noted that he had "lived his life fully - with joy and exuberance".
A Notable Career on Screen
His initial on-screen part was on the George Wendt Show in the mid-90s, where he portrayed the brother of the main character.
He was also seen in a regular part on Murphy Brown in the latter half of the 1990s.
He appeared as Joe Mayo in Seinfeld in 1998, playing a host who would assign tedious tasks to his guests.
Throughout the end of the 90s and start of the 2000s, he made guest appearances on a variety of hit series, including:
- King of Queens
- "Friends"
- "That '70s Show"
- House
His most famous role for portraying Bill Norwood in The Middle, appearing throughout eight series between 2011 and 2018.
His work in movies include "It's Complicated" and Santa Paws 2: The Santa Pups (2012).
A Life in Improv
Away from his television work, Finn was a skilled improviser and also taught at the University of Colorado, where he was a professor.
He was involved with a comedy group of six known as Beer Shark Mice.
"Pat guided, supported, and advised many learners during his career and you'd be hard-pressed to find a person anywhere who has anything negative to say about him," his relatives stated.
Offering condolences, fellow actor Richard Kind noted there was "not a more kind, gentle, or funny, down to earth person you could encounter".
"Always positive, helping you be funnier and better. A wonderful father and man," he shared on social media.
Pat Finn is survived by his partner Donna, his three kids, and his family.
