Football Analyst Chris Sutton Battles Artist Olly Murs in Premier League Forecasts

Arsenal's ten-match victorious run came to an end by Sunderland prior to the global break, but can the English top division leaders bounce back against north London rivals Tottenham this weekend?

"{I believe like Arsenal are light years ahead of Tottenham at the moment but Spurs manager Thomas Frank will have a plan for this game," remarked football expert Chris Sutton.

"Frank will attempt to nullify Arsenal, who have not always been at their scintillating best this season - but Mikel Arteta's side usually still find a way to win."

Sutton is forecasting results for all 380 Premier League games this term, versus artificial intelligence, fans and a variety of special visitors.

For the twelfth round, he faces performer Olly Murs, who is a United fan.

The singer's latest album, Knees Up, is available on the weekend.

Football and Parenting Life

Murs is a skilled soccer player as well as a accomplished artist and has been a featured player of several charity football games over time - but he is not planning a professional return as a player.

"{I recently played in a charity game the other night for a friend of mine," he explained. "The side was trailing 3-1 when I was substituted in the 60th minute, and they proceeded to win 4-3, so you can interpret that what you will!

"I continue to love football, but I injured my joint a few years ago and it still isn't where I want it to be. I hope I could play more but the uncertainty of the game means it's too dangerous for me in my career to do it seriously again.

"Additionally I am forty-one now, and we are not all Cristiano Ronaldo, are we!? No, I am very content not playing football and I am preparing for the time that my child or boy decides to play instead."

The singer and his spouse his partner have a young family, their daughter and their son, and he is prepared to emulate his dad by becoming their coach.

"I won't push football on our kids but I've already told Amelia that if they do get the bug for it then I will have to go and get my coaching badges - and I will probably be coaching their Saturday football side," he added.

"I observed my relatives play a lot, and I really got into it, and I obviously was involved with a football club for a while too.

"My father coached with us when I was a kid, which is probably where I get it from. He managed our side for two or three years and had great fun with it. That might be the next step for me as well, and I am looking forward to it!"

Top Division Predictions

Saturday, 22 November

  • Turf Moor, 12:30 GMT

Chelsea might have to be patient for their star's return from fitness issues but their attack is already stronger with Pedro and Liam Delap both returned to fitness.

I still think this fixture will be fairly close, though. The Clarets are well organised and their sole at Turf Moor defeats so far have been against Liverpool and Arsenal.

This smells of a one-all tie to me, but I am actually going to choose the London side to edge it for what would be their third consecutive league win in a row.

The expert's prediction: 1-2

Olly's prediction: The Blues will be too strong. 1-3

Artificial intelligence's prediction: 0-2

  • Vitality Stadium, 15:00 GMT

Bournemouth have been defeated in their past two games - although both of them were on the road - but they got absolutely spanked by Villa last time out which shocked me.

In contrast, West Ham secured back-to-back victories before the hiatus and, although both of those fixtures were at their stadium, they do look competitive again.

The Hammers' only away victory this season came at Forest in the summer, when West Ham boss Nuno was still Forest manager.

Therefore, what exactly do I go with here - will it be the Hammers extending their run under their manager, or Bournemouth responding?

I will go with the Cherries, because I believe what happened against Aston Villa was a anomaly.

Sutton's forecast: 2-0

Olly's outlook: Bournemouth are performing strongly but the visitors have picked up under their boss. 2-2

The algorithm's prediction: 1-1

  • Amex Stadium, 15:00 GMT

The Bees were seen as one of the frontrunners for relegation before the campaign started, but they have impressed a several observers under their manager and are in good form with three in their last four matches.

My son told me to select Brentford forward Igor Thiago in my Fantasy Football team a few weeks back and, unfortunately, I didn't listen.

Thiago will likely find the net again on Saturday but I am nonetheless not going to select him or back Brentford at Brighton's ground.

The Bees have not had great success on the road this term, and the Seagulls are consistently strong at their stadium. The visitors will attempt to attack on the break but I feel Fabian Hurzeler's side carry much more of a threat.

Sutton's prediction: 2-1

The singer's view: This could be a match where you expect there is going to be a many goals but it in reality proves to be rather close. 1-1

AI's outcome: 2-1

  • Craven Cottage, 15:00 GMT

It is a huge game for Fulham, who have suffered defeat in five of their last six matches.

Fulham have got lots of quality in their squad but it still feels like they could be sucked into a relegation battle.

As for Sunderland, well they are the surprise package of the Premier League season so far.

Their performance in the two-all tie with the Gunners last time out was excellent. We've not witnessed anyone else disrupt the North London side like that this season, and they were more than a match for them.

The logical choice would be to support the visitors here, because they are obviously capable of roughing Fulham up too and, the last time they were in this part of London, they defeated Chelsea at the end of last month.

But I am not going to choose that. Rather, I truly need to continue opposing the away team with my predictions. I am claiming a lot of responsibility for their good results because they clearly love to defy my predictions.

Looking at Fulham's at Craven Cottage form, the sole side they have lost to is the league leaders. Their manager's side will be absolutely eager for a positive result, so I am going to say they will pick up three points.

Sutton's forecast: 1-0

The guest's prediction: I'm aware the visitors are doing well and additionally that Fulham are on a poor streak... but they have still been respectable at Craven Cottage this campaign. 2-0

AI's outlook: 2-0

  • Anfield, 15:00 GMT

This is a hard fixture to call. The Reds have lost seven of their last ten matches in all competitions, but might they be among the teams who benefit from the {international break|
